Air Comfort, Inc. in Michigan is seeking a Fleet and Safety Manager to oversee driver qualification, training, and regulatory compliance across locations. You will drive safety initiatives, manage DOT/FMCSA programs, and lead investigations and records management.

The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to supervise staff, travel up to 75%, and a solid understanding of DOT rules. You will partner with leadership to sustain a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience managing driver qualification files and safety training.
• In-depth knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Experience supervising a team.
• Able to travel up to 75% regionally.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a full lifecycle of company drivers, including recruitment, onboarding, qualification files, performance, and terminations.
• Ensure drivers receive required safety, compliance, and operational training per DOT.
• Manage the DOT drug and alcohol testing program, consortium, random testing, post-accident testing, reporting.
• Conduct vehicle accident investigations with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Administer crane and forklift certification programs, training coordination and records.
• Ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA across locations, including inspections and recordkeeping.
• Manage vehicle registration and insurance programs with current documentation.
• Partner with operational leadership to promote safety culture.
• Participate in emergency planning and response.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate fleet safety risks through policy development and coaching.
