Job summary

M&D Transportation, LLC is seeking a Transportation Safety Coordinator to keep our fleet and drivers safe while ensuring on-time deliveries. You will combine inspections, real-time monitoring, and proactive training to uphold highest safety standards.

The role requires 3-5 years in fleet safety or logistics, with FMCSRs and OSHA knowledge, and experience with Samsara and SambaSafety. Expect 10-15% travel and a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of fleet safety or logistics experience with FMCSRs and OSHA knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with safety monitoring systems such as Samsara and SambaSafety is a plus.
• Proven ability to build rapport with drivers and cross-functional teams to influence safe practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and roll out safety policies to prevent accidents and protect drivers.
• Manage safety tracking systems (Samsara) in real time and respond to alerts.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections and hub audits; post-trip checks.
• Lead safety training sessions, onboarding, and forklift certification programs.
• Counsel drivers on DOT violations with coaching and corrective action.
• Ensure credentials, medical cards, and licenses are current and compliant.
• Lead post-incident investigations and drive corrective actions to completion.
• Oversee DOT accident register, driver qualification files, and drug/alcohol programs.
• Prepare safety performance reports for leadership; travel 10–15% as needed.
• Primarily office-based with time on-site at hubs and alongside drivers.
