American Furniture Warehouse is seeking a Fleet Safety Coordinator to implement and oversee the fleet safety program, emphasizing proactive vehicle safety, accident prevention, regulatory compliance, and safety training materials development. The role requires travel to accident scenes for investigations and FMCSA guidance, supporting AFW drivers and delivery teams across locations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; equivalent experience considered.
Experience as Fleet Safety Coordinator or in deliveries preferred.
Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
Able to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work independently and across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

Promote safety policies and provide guidance to delivery/OTR personnel.
Inspect daily VIRs and ensure a VIR is completed for each truck.
Monitor logs and correct entries; observe driving behavior and report.
Investigate accidents on scene with the Accident Investigator and FMCSA procedures.
Coordinate training with the NON-CDL trainer.
All training provided by AFW.
