Job summary

TriMet is seeking an Assistant Manager, Fleet Readiness in Oregon to ensure revenue vehicles are fueled, serviced, disinfected, and meet service standards. You will coordinate with operations maintenance managers to prepare the fleet for AM/PM pullout and supervise cleaning and maintenance staff, ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires leadership in training, evaluating performance, staffing, and coordinating with various departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in industrial mechanics, electrical engineering, or related field preferred.
• Four years total experience required; three years in janitorial or maintenance operations.
• One year of lead experience required; one year in combined union/non-union organization preferred.
• Possession of a valid Class C driver's license; ability to pass driving record check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fleet for service readiness by coordinating with operations maintenance managers and supervisors.
• Supervise interior and exterior cleaning of facilities, or bus and rail fleets.
• Ensure staff coverage and conduct daily shift meetings.
• Provide coaching and evaluations; administer discipline per policy and wage agreement.
• Conduct safety audits; enforce drug and alcohol testing protocols; maintain safe work environment.
• Coordinate continuous improvement efforts and train new employees.
• Prepare reports and manage tools, equipment, and supplies.
