Wayve in Detroit, MI, is seeking a Shift Lead for Fleet Operations. You will lead a team of Vehicle Safety Officers on a 5x8 in-person shift, ensuring safety, efficiency, and strong customer engagement during on-road testing.

Qualifications

• Fluent English required.
• Proven experience as a team coordinator or similar role.
• Strong leadership and communication skills at all levels.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of VSOs during a shift, providing guidance and direction to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
• Oversee day-to-day shift operations, scheduling, task assignment, and performance monitoring.
• Line-manage VSOs with rostered shifts; maintain monthly face-to-face contact.
• Engage with customers as the central point of contact for OEM initiatives and communicate instructions to VSOs.
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure regulatory compliance across shift activities.
• Monitor on-road testing quality and report discrepancies to QA.
• Identify issues and implement practical process improvements.
• Communicate effectively with team, management, and other departments.
• Prepare and submit shift activity reports including metrics and incidents.
• Act as initial contact for on-road incidents per the Major Incident Management Plan.
• Coordinate training and development events with QA for continuous improvement.
