Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Manager II (Evergreen) to directly manage midsize driver teams, ensure safe and timely freight movement, and maintain strong driver relationships.

You will handle assignments, scheduling, and performance reporting while upholding DOT and company safety standards. The role requires flexibility across day, night, and weekend shifts and may involve payroll and coaching duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 2-3 years of experience in transportation/logistics or equivalent military experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management, Transportation/Logistics, or Supply Chain preferred with 1–2 years of related experience.
• Compensation may include annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and safety to minimize turnover and maximize productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on special projects to optimize fleet operations for profitability.
• Train and orientation of drivers and staff, including system training for customers and third parties.
• Analyze fleet operations and profitability, define KPIs, and prepare customer-specific reporting and financial analysis.
• Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment in market.
• Handle payroll, driver counseling, payroll issues, invoicing, and reporting.
• Oversee yard operations and coordinate maintenance for safety-related issues.
• Collaborate with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve service issues and route planning.
