Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee for Marietta, GA, to learn the management of a driver group and non-traditional shifts. You will support safe, on-time freight movement, learn load assignment, and work with drivers and customers to ensure excellent service and compliance with DOT regulations.

The role involves hands-on operations, reporting, and developing leadership skills across fleet operations with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 1 year in management/transportation/logistics or related field
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends
• Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment
• Experience managing a team (preferred)
• Ability to analyze situations and make decisions
• Ability to adapt to changing environments

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and safe carriers
• Fill in for absent personnel and on special projects to optimize fleet operations
• Learn personnel management including training of drivers and staff
• Present customer reporting and financial analysis to improve profitability
• Gain knowledge to manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments
• Perform payroll, budget, payroll queries, and invoicing duties
• Manage yard activities and coordinate maintenance for account equipment
• Collaborate with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve issues and plan routes
• Maintain safety culture and ensure DOT compliance and safety requirements
• Assign loads, plan routes, monitor freight movement, and adjust driver ETAs
