Job summary

Medline is seeking a Fleet Operations professional to oversee the MedTrans fleet, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient dispatching of drivers and vehicles from the Perryville, MD area. The role focuses on optimizing routes, maintaining equipment, and managing driver training in line with DOT and company policies.

The ideal candidate will have experience dispatching drivers, proficiency with routing software, and strong mentoring abilities, with a background in transportation costing and motor

Qualifications

• Experience managing and dispatching drivers with routing software.
• At least 2 years coaching, mentoring and training staff.
• Intermediate knowledge of transportation costing and motor carrier operations.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word basics.
• Ability to bend, lift up to 50 lbs and stand up to 8 hours daily.

Responsibilities

• Optimize daily routes and activities based on branch and fleet workloads as well as available Customer order information.
• Ensure all drivers are properly trained according to MedTrans requirements.
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained in accordance with the MedTrans vehicle maintenance policy.
• Recruit, hire, train and discipline all drivers. Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with drivers as required by DOT and/or company policy.
• Lead day-to-day activities of employees, assign, monitor and review progress and provide technical guidance on more complex issues.
