Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee for Summer 2027 in the Supply Chain department.

The role focuses on learning driver management, coordinating with drivers, and ensuring safe, timely freight movement while complying with DOT regulations. The program includes training in load planning, payroll, budgeting, billing, and customer reporting, with opportunities to work nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or GED with 1 year of related experience.
• Willingness to travel to account locations and events when applicable.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.
• Willingness to regionally relocate based on account assignment.
• Experience managing a team is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and external carriers to ensure seamless new carrier set-up and productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Learn to train and orient drivers and/or staff including customer systems.
• Assist in measuring KPIs and presenting customer-specific reporting and financial analysis.
• Gain knowledge to manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment.
