Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Washington seeks a Manager Trainee to learn management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends. You will ensure safe, timely freight movement, load assignments, and first-class customer service while training to DOT compliance.

You will develop skills in fleet operations, staffing, payroll, and profit-focused reporting, gaining hands-on experience with performance metrics and client-facing problem solving.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with up to 4 years of education/experience and training; pursuing degree programs as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree with ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and safe outside carriers to set up new carriers and maximize productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and assist with projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Learn to manage driver training, orientation, and use internal/customer systems.
• Assist in routing, planning, and monitoring freight to meet customer requirements and adjust driver ETA.
