Job summary

CRH's Oldcastle APG is seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee day-to-day private fleet operations across multiple locations, ensuring safe, efficient, and economical vehicle and equipment performance.

The role includes supervising drivers, ensuring DOT compliance, developing transportation initiatives, and coordinating with sites to improve fleet productivity while maintaining policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Minimum two-year degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
• 2+ years managing DOT-regulated drivers and scheduling transportation preferred
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations required
• Job requires up to 25% travel

Responsibilities

• Support targeted transportation initiatives and projects as directed
• Display proactive mindset and seek to understand and cultivate opportunities to improve fleet operations across the region
• Supervise drivers, and ensure drivers and vehicles remain in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies
• Make hiring decisions, manage performance, provide coaching, and issue discipline for drivers
• Ensure compliance with all DOT and Company policies and procedures such as accident investigation and drug and alcohol testing
• Maintain driver qualification files including driver road tests
• Audit driver logs to ensure drivers are compliant with hours-of-service regulations
• Oversee maintenance program for company vehicles including routing vehicle inspections at fleet domicile locations
• Review current vendors and seek new vendors to help reduce cost and increase fleet efficiency
• Provide reporting on key KPI metrics to management
