Job summary

GCI Communication Corp is seeking a senior leader to own Fleet Operations strategy, performance, and outcomes in Alaska. You will oversee statewide vehicle availability, maintenance programs, and lifecycle plans to optimize reliability and safety.

The role requires five years in fleet operations with leadership experience, plus proficiency in fleet tech and Excel analyses. Strong vendor management and strategic budgeting are essential in a 24/7 critical service environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, Transportation, Logistics, Finance, or a related field; experience may substitute.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree acceptable.
• Five years in fleet operations or related field with leadership experience and vendor management.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, lifecycle planning, safety/incident management, and fleet recordkeeping.
• Proficiency with fleet management/telematics systems and Excel-based analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy, operations, performance, and results of Fleet Operations.
• Lead statewide fleet operations including vehicle availability, maintenance, acquisition, assignment, replacement, and disposal.
• Oversee fleet safety, regulatory compliance, records, telematics, and related technology.
• Manage fleet budgets, costs, forecasts, and vendor performance; advise on acquisitions/leasing and disposal.
• Partner with business leaders to optimize fleet capacity and provide executive reporting and cost-reducing improvements.
