Job summary

Ruan in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to independently coordinate and schedule a fleet of drivers, ensuring compliance with DOT rules and company policy while maximizing performance and customer satisfaction.

You will coach drivers, direct daily work, plan deliveries, resolve scheduling issues, and handle payroll and billing, using our TMS to capture data in real time. Strong communication and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in logistics or transportation.
• 1–2 years of experience in transportation or similar role.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations strongly desired.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coach and counsel drivers on safety, performance, productivity and morale.
• Direct and schedule driver's work and coordinate loads.
• Develop daily delivery plans utilizing equipment and resources.
• Resolve delivery and scheduling problems through timely communications.
• Handle payroll, billing, driver counseling, and post-accident reviews.
• Participate in review and analysis of operating performance.
• Use TMS to capture data in near real time.
• Promote safety and regulatory compliance across operations.
