Job summary

Republic Services in Greensboro, NC seeks a Transportation Supervisor to oversee daily driver operations, plan schedules and routes, and coordinate with operations to maximize efficiency and profitability.

You will supervise CDL drivers, ensure vehicle maintenance, and uphold EPA, DOT and hazardous materials regulations while managing costs and developing staff through hiring, training and reviews.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in transportation supervision or related area.
• Knowledge of EPA regulations, transportation equipment and maintenance requirements.
• Familiarity with federal, state and local transportation laws.
• Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CDL drivers on day-to-day basis.
• Plan schedules and routes for maximum efficiency.
• Ensure the vehicle fleet is properly maintained.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local laws for Hazardous Material shipments.
• Monitor costs to keep operational expenses at or below budget.
• Communicate clearly with internal operations, disposal facilities, and others in transportation.
• Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance.
