International Registries, Inc. in Annapolis seeks a Fleet Operations Flag State Specialist to conduct flag state safety inspections and oversee MSC, ISM and ISPS audits.
The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of maritime experience, a maritime degree, strong MS Office skills, and excellent verbal/written communication with U.S. and international clients. Travel about 35% is required. You will report to the Deputy Fleet Operations Manager and work with the regional office.
The Fleet Operations Flag State Specialist is primarily responsible for conducting flag state safety inspections. The Fleet Operations Flag State Specialist is expected to maintain a high degree of knowledge in the international and national rules and requirements that apply to commercial vessels, and of the Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, and Power Point).Additionally, the Fleet Operations Flag State Specialist must have good verbal and written communications skills when dealing with both U.S. and foreign clients. Reports directly to the Deputy Fleet Operations Manager and the head of the regional office were assigned and is responsible for the following:
35% of the work week will be spent travelling, but this number could increase during the second half of the year.
Bachelor's Degree
A Maritime Degree and/or practical experience onboard vessels. Experience in carrying out ISM/ISPS audits in accordance with IACS rules is desirable.
3-5 years.
This role is physically demanding. A candidate must be able to crawl, climb, and transverse spaces on ships.
