Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Superintendent of Operations to provide executive leadership for the Fleet Management Division within the Department of General Services. You will drive standardized, data-driven maintenance operations with a focus on safety, uptime, and service quality.

You will supervise fleet maintenance, asset readiness, and workforce development, while improving processes, documentation, and performance across the division to support city-wide objectives and accountability.

Qualifications

• Education: Have a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, management or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Have eight (8) years of experience in professional-level administrative operations or technical work. Previous work lead experience may be required.
• Notes equivalencies: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Licenses, registrations and certifications: Have a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or an equivalent driver's license and eligible to obtain a Baltimore City driver's permit may be required.

Responsibilities

• Fleet maintenance operations and asset readiness management.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, repair quality, and shop productivity.
• Ensure fleet operations are standardized, data-driven, and customer-focused.
• Lead workforce development, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
