Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee in Cincinnati, OH to learn and manage a small driver team and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends. You will learn to plan, route, monitor freight, and ensure DOT compliance while delivering exceptional customer service.

The role involves coaching drivers, analyzing P&L data, and collaborating with internal/external contacts to optimize fleet operations and profitability. A related degree or relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of management/logistics experience.
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company events as needed.
• Willing to work multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends; willingness to relocate regionally based on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and carriers for new carrier setup and productivity.
• Fill in for absent staff and support special projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Learn personnel management, training and orientation of drivers and staff including system training.
• Develop reporting and financial analysis for customer locations and monitor KPIs.
• Assist in inventory, assets, and driver assignment to balance equipment across markets.
• Perform admin tasks: payroll, budgeting, invoicing, and financial reports.
• Coordinate yard operations, vehicle maintenance, and safety compliance to meet DOT requirements.
• Assist in load assignment, routing, and on-time delivery while addressing issues throughout the day.
