Job summary

Miami Cerebral Palsy is urgently seeking a Fleet Technician to handle administrative, logistical, and coordination duties for the fleet. The role emphasizes documentation, scheduling, and compliance to keep vehicles in serviceable condition with minimal downtime.

The position requires at least a High School diploma, 3+ years driving with a clean record, knowledge of DOT rules, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. It is an on-site role serving the Florida Miami area.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• General knowledge of vehicles, preventive maintenance, and scheduling is expected.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle licensing regulations is preferred.
• Supervisory ability, documentation orientation and a valid Class D license are required.
• Minimum 3 years driving experience with an excellent clean driving record.
• Familiarity with DOT Regulations.
• Ability to assist staff and individuals served, including wheelchair transfers when applicable.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all fleet vehicles and maintain logs.
• Detect troubleshooting issues and follow up promptly on problems or potential issues.
• Coordinate vehicle scheduling for inspections, audits, and activities.
• Manage vehicle registrations and insurance records.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, local/state/federal regulations, and company policies.
• Integrate fleet cleaning into maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Monitor vehicle records and inspections; coordinate corrective actions with leadership.
• Provide staff training on safety and transportation guidelines as needed.
• Handle unforeseen events like breakdowns or incidents to minimize disruption.
