Job summary

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking a Fleet Coordinator to work closely with the Fleet Unit Manager and staff across the organization. The role manages a large fleet, analyzes data, and prepares reports while guiding assets through replacement or surplus decisions with innovative improvements.

The position emphasizes collaboration with managers and technicians, training delivery, and maintaining fleet records to ensure regulatory compliance and efficient operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and four years of relevant fleet experience.
• Experience with fleet maintenance, equipment utilization, dispatching, acquisition, and salvaging of light and heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of CMMS tools such as Maximo, FleetIO, AssetWorks, Samsara.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the annual Operating Equipment review and support vehicle specifications.
• Maintain accurate computerized maintenance records and track fleet financials, warranties, and recalls.
• Administer driver evaluations and deliver safety and maintenance training to staff and stakeholders.
• Audit maintenance programs and consult on equipment repairs and spare parts.
• Conduct site visits to ensure regulatory and safety compliance across all locations.
• Collaborate with managers and technicians to monitor preventive maintenance schedules and operational efficiency.
