Job summary

Verizon is seeking an experienced automotive mechanic to maintain and repair a diverse Verizon fleet. You will diagnose, test, and service vehicles and related equipment, including aerial lifts and generators, using specialized diagnostic tools.

Expect an early shift, with overtime as needed, and mandatory certifications to be kept current. You should have a minimum of 5 years of mechanic experience, a CDL or learner's permit within 6 months, a valid driver’s license, and ASE A6/A8/L1

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience as a mechanic or related field.
  • CDL license or commercial learner's permit required within 6 months.
  • Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • ASE Certifications A6, A8, and L1 (reimbursement for fees).
  • MD Emissions Inspection License (or obtain within 6 months).

Responsibilities

  • Performing maintenance and repair of all types of motor vehicles and special equipment in the Verizon fleet.
  • Diagnosing, maintaining and repairing all company associated equipment, including aerial lifts, diggers, generators, tools.
  • Using computer test equipment to diagnose vehicle problems.
  • Interfacing with vehicle users regarding repairs, questions, etc.
  • Performing OSHA, ANSI, emissions, and state inspections on company vehicles.
  • Obtaining and maintaining all required certificates or licenses.
  • Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts based on the needs of the business.
  • Work tour hours are 4am to 12:30pm, Monday through Friday (hours may vary). Overtime is as needed by the business.
