Job summary

Verizon is seeking a skilled fleet mechanic at a Maryland worksite to keep our motor vehicles and equipment running. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diverse fleet assets, from trucks to lifts, using test equipment and safety standards.

You must have 5+ years as a mechanic, a CDL or permit within 6 months, a valid state license, ASE A6/A8/L1, and MD Emissions License or obtain within 6 months. Evening/weekend shifts may be required; 40-hour weeks onsite.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience as a mechanic or similar role.
• CDL License or Commercial Learner's Permit; CDL required within 6 months of hire.
• Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• ASE Certifications A6, A8, and L1; reimbursement for related fees to obtain emissions license.
• MD Emissions Inspection License (or obtain within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of all types of motor vehicles and equipment in the Verizon fleet.
• Diagnose, maintain and repair company equipment including aerial lifts, diggers, generators, tools, etc.
• Use computer test equipment to diagnose vehicle problems.
• Interface with vehicle users regarding repairs and questions.
• Perform OSHA, ANSI, emissions, and state inspections on company vehicles.
• Obtain and maintain all required certificates or licenses.
