Job summary

The University of Mississippi is seeking an experienced mechanic for the University Service Station. The role involves preventive maintenance and both minor and major mechanical repairs on university vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities include tire mounting/balancing, oil changes, brake, steering, suspension, engine and drivetrain repairs, diagnostics, A/C service, and equipment maintenance. A high school diploma and 2 years of relevant experience are required; 3 years preferred.

Qualifications

• High School (Required).
• 2 Years Relevant experience (Required).
• 3 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mounting & balancing tires.
• Preventive maintenance including oil changes.
• Full brake system repair.
• Steering & suspension repair.
• Engine performance & mechanical repair (gas & diesel).
• Drivetrain repair including some transmission repair or replacement.
• Using diagnostic equipment: scan tools, test lights, multimeter, and other tools.
• Hydraulic cylinder & hose repair.
• A/C system service & repair.
