The Ohio State University is seeking an Automotive Mechanic 2 to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment. You will diagnose, service, and repair components across engines, exhaust, electrical, and braking systems, using OEM software and advanced diagnostic tools.
The role includes welding and fabrication tasks and may require weekend work or special events. Required hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and air braking; HVAC certification; and strong
Competenze
- 300 hours training in auto mechanics or 3 months experience.
- Expertise in hydraulic systems with troubleshooting and hose assembly.
- Advanced diagnostic capabilities using OEM software (Ford, GM, Cummins).
- Experience with modern diesel engines and exhaust after-treatment systems.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams accurately.
- Experience with air brake and air suspension systems.
- HVAC certification with practical maintenance experience.
Mansioni
- Perform preventative maintenance on university fleet and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair major systems: engines, transmissions, HVAC, electricals.
- Address emergency breakdowns and servicing during weekends/events.
- Use OEM diagnostic software and modern diagnostic tools.
- Fabricate repairs with oxy-acetylene, plasma cutters, MIG welders.
- Attend meetings and training as required.
- Subject to background check; essential position per policy.
