Job summary

Vestis, based in Houston, seeks a Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair company vehicles with emphasis on preventive maintenance and DOT compliance. You will document work, track shop duties in AVMS, and assist with cost control in a busy, safety-focused shop.

Two years of fleet repair experience and a high school diploma are required; an associate degree in Automotive Technology is a plus. The role requires flexibility to cover day/evening shifts in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Two years or more of experience in fleet vehicle repairs and preventative maintenance.
• High school diploma or GED; associate degree in automotive tech preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle standards is essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented shop and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fleet vehicles with preventive maintenance to meet 100% standards.
• Use AVMS to track shop duties and workflow.
• Assist with cost control via purchasing, inventory and safety training.
• Ensure shop and vehicle compliance with OSHA/DOT requirements.
• Perform repairs on diesel/gas engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Inspect vehicles and document repairs per guidelines.
• Work safely and efficiently; assist with more extensive repairs when needed.
• Follow company conduct policies and perform other duties as required.
