Job summary

Vestis Corporation in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on our delivery fleet. You will work under the Lead Mechanic to maintain DOT compliance and keep vehicles safe and reliable.

You will use the AVMS system to track shop duties, assist with cost control through parts procurement, inventory management, and training others in safety practices. The role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of experience in fleet vehicle mechanical repairs including preventative maintenance scheduling.
• Experience with DOT regulations and applicable state vehicle laws.
• Familiarity with fleet management software and parts procurement processes.
• Willingness to work day, evenings, and/or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fleet vehicles with focus on Preventative Maintenance programs to meet 100% compliance of standards.
• Utilize the AVMS fleet management computer system to track shop operation duties.
• Assist with cost control through purchasing, inventory management, as well as training others in area of safety to assure vehicle assets are within reasonable costs.
• Maintain shop quality, cleanliness, and OSHA standards; inspect vehicles for compliance with Vestis and DOT standards.
• Perform repairs on medium gas and diesel engines, brakes, electrical systems, suspension, and lift gates.
