Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Fleet Mechanic 3 in Boise, ID to keep all fleet vehicles roadworthy and ready for service. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, on-site repairs, and roadside support as needed.

The role requires experience with diesel trucks, brakes, and power-train systems, plus adherence to safety rules and proper tool use. Training and safety meetings are part of the job.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years related work experience OR five years of related work experience.
• Ability to service and diagnose brakes.
• Ability to service and diagnose diesel trucks, (tractor/trailers) and power-train mechanics.
• Basic use of hand-tools required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all preventive maintenance and repair work necessary on fleet trucks/ trailers and other company equipment.
• May be required to answer roadside calls for disabled vehicles.
• Interprets repair manuals and work orders as to properly repair the equipment.
• Responsible for being familiar with and observing all company safety rules and regulations; recognizes that safety is top company priority; attends regularly scheduled safety meetings.
• Required to use all safety equipment as assigned.
• All other duties as assigned.
