Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Mechanic 2 to keep our fleet roadworthy and ready for service.

You will perform preventive maintenance and repair on trucks, trailers and other equipment, ensuring reliability and safety across our operations and maintaining a clean, organized shop. This full-time, on-site role requires a High School Diploma or GED, vocational training or three years of related experience.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Vocational training plus one year of related work experience OR three years of related work experience required.
Ability to service and diagnose brakes.
Ability to service and diagnose diesel trucks (tractor/trailers) and power-train mechanics.
Basic use of hand-tools required.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and repair on fleet trucks/trailers and other company equipment.
Responsible for general day-to-day operation of vehicle maintenance and repair of all company trucks/trailers and other equipment.
Maintains clean environment.
May be required to answer roadside calls for disabled vehicles.
Interprets repair manuals and work orders as to properly repair the equipment.
Follows all safety rules and attends safety meetings.
Uses all safety equipment as assigned.
All other duties as assigned.
