Job summary

WeDriveU is seeking a Mechanic B to lead hands-on maintenance for a large fleet of commercial passenger vehicles in Peoria, IL. The role includes scheduling, coordinating with internal teams, and performing complex repairs while tracking costs and compliance.

You will supervise maintenance staff, perform diagnostics on electrical, HVAC, braking and engine systems, and ensure safety standards and regulatory inspections are met.

Qualifications

• Must comply with federal, state, and local DOT regulations for medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
• ASE Master Automotive/Truck Technician certification required.
• Experience with maintenance management systems and documentation is essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs across steering, electrical, braking, drivetrain, and engine systems.
• Schedule and coordinate maintenance with in-house and 3rd party providers.
• Oversee roadside response and ensure regulatory inspections are completed.
• Lead and supervise maintenance staff and allocate daily work.
• Maintain a clean, safe, OSHA-compliant shop environment.
