Job summary

WeDriveU in Lansing, IL is seeking an experienced maintenance technician for our heavy fleet. You will diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines, test drives, and ensure repairs meet federal and state requirements.

Responsibilities include arranging inspections for major repairs, maintaining a safe work area, recording parts and time, and performing on-the-road repairs as needed. Strong computer skills and team communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of fleet maintenance experience on heavy fleet vehicles.
• Diesel and/or gasoline engine experience in a fast-paced fleet environment.
• Experience with computerized diagnostics.
• General shop computer knowledge including purchasing and budgeting.
• Strong skills in Word and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Organizational skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs to a high standard.
• Test-drives vehicles to verify repair effectiveness.
• Arranges inspections and approvals for major repairs.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and compliant work area.
• Records parts used and repair time accurately.
• Alerts Lead Technician to unsafe conditions.
• Performs road calls and on-road repairs as assigned.
