Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Mechanic to deploy across multiple active project environments, inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy haul vehicles, mixer fleets, and support equipment. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and adherence to quality specs while supporting fleet operations in a dynamic field setting.

You will work outdoors in varying weather, perform complex mechanical tasks, and coordinate with site leadership to minimize downtime and ensure compliant maintenance documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license; Class A or B commercial driver’s license preferred.
• 3 years experience directly related to the duties or mechanics school graduate (Heavy equipment diesel engines and transmissions).
• Requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
• They may be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
• Must be able to stand for long periods on varied surfaces.
• Must be able to move freely, including the ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist.
• Must be able to lift 100 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Ensures delivery trucks operate and prevents breakdowns affecting client placement.
• Travels between plant installations and delivery zones to provide fleet PMs and field support.
• Troubleshoots and repairs drum rotation gear drives, water pumps, and hydraulic lines on heavy equipment.
• Upholds fleet safety parameters.
• Performs engine, brake, and chassis interventions using proper safety equipment.
• Maintains drum speeds and blade structures to meet 90-minute/300-revolution specs.
• Prevents costs from delivery transit breakdowns and load issues.
• Maximizes tire life and fleet parts efficiency.
• Keeps FMCSA logs, DOT inspections, brake certifications, and maintenance sheets up to date.
• Reports to Maintenance Manager and coordinates with Driver Lead.
