Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of experience in equipment maintenance and repair.
• Valid Texas Class A CDL with endorsements.
• 1–3 years of experience in vehicle and engine maintenance including heavy equipment, ABS brakes, HVAC, automotive electrical, suspension, transmission, gas and diesel engines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair county vehicles and equipment, including heavy construction and other motorized equipment.
• Establish and implement daily equipment checks for preventive maintenance schedules.
• Diagnose engine and mechanical problems; prepare cost estimates and obtain parts.
• Perform full range of repair work from minor replacements to rebuilding engines.
• Repair/maintain vehicle air conditioning and cooling systems.
