City of South Padre Island is seeking a skilled Mechanic to maintain and repair municipal vehicles and equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair a range of mechanical systems, and ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulations.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driver's license; CDL is preferred. The position may require after-hours availability and work on-site in South Padre Island, TX.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with mechanics coursework.
• Three years of related work experience in mechanics or a related field.
• CDL certificate preferred and a valid state driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Receive vehicles for service or repairs.
• Plan, carry out and evaluate preventive maintenance schedules.
• Test, service and repair vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain shop, work area and all tools and equipment.
• Ensure repairs comply with manufacturers' specs and regulations.
