The City of El Paso Texas is seeking a responsible fleet mechanic to repair and maintain a wide range of City vehicles and equipment. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure safety and reliability of transportation assets.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of journey level automotive or diesel experience. Some positions may require ASE certification, and CDL or EPA credentials may be needed within six months of appointment.

Formación

• Two years of journey level automotive or diesel mechanic experience required.
• High school diploma or GED or higher is required.
• Certifications/licenses may be required within six months of appointment.

Responsabilidades

• Repair, recondition and maintain trucks, automobiles, buses and city equipment.
• Diagnose and overhaul repair needs based on work orders.
• Replace parts, test repairs and ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintain records and communicate with officials and staff as needed at the work site.

Conocimientos

Auto/diesel mechanic experience

ASE Certification

Texas Class C License

Texas Class B CDL (optional)

EPA certification for refrigerant recycling
