Job summary

The City of Pearland, TX is seeking a full-time Mechanic to support the Engineering & Public Works - Fleet division. The role focuses on vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to maximize uptime and keep fleets safe.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, ASE preferred, and at least three years of related experience; a Texas Class C driver's license is required. On-call availability may be necessary.

Qualifications

• ASE Preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Three (3) years related experience and/or training preferred.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Performs lubrication, filter changes, and mechanical diagnostics.
• Inspects and repairs engines, brakes, driveline, and A/C as needed.
• Repairs and replaces parts; disassembles units and inspects wear.
• Works safely with PPE and on-call when scheduled.
