Job summary

TNT Services in Indianapolis, IN is urgently hiring a full-time Fleet Mechanic to service and repair light- to medium-duty fleet vehicles. The role requires a skilled level 2 mechanic with strong diagnostic and preventive maintenance abilities, and own tools.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain automobiles, heavy trucks, and related equipment, while documenting work and maintaining safety standards. Valid driver’s license with <4 points and MEC certification (or ability to obtain) are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a mechanic.
• Knowledge of shop equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Deadline and detailed-oriented.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environments.
• Valid driver’s license with fewer than four points.
• Hold a valid MEC, or able to obtain MEC once onboarded.
• Ability to lift: Up to 25 lbs frequently, Up to 50 lbs often, Up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and work with hands and arms throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.

Responsibilities

• Repair automobiles, heavy trucks, and other motor vehicles and nonmotor vehicles as needed.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance.
• Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components.
• Perform quality inspections before returning to service.
• Work independently and with other team members to complete repairs timely and safely.
• Complete required daily paperwork, document parts, and material usage.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
