Job summary

UPS is seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our fleet maintenance team in Alexandria, VA. The technician maintains a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty tractors, and trailers powered by diesel, gasoline, and alternative fuels or electric systems.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting hydraulic and air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls, meeting DOT requirements, and working varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and personal computer.
• Possesses full complement of personal hand tools.
• Class A/B or A Commercial Driver’s License preferred; CDL must be obtained within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Meets DOT requirements as required by the assignment.
• Troubleshoots and maintains hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.
• Operates standard and manual transmission vehicles and hand tools.
• Adapts to varying shifts and works in a changing environment.
