Job summary

North Sky Communications in Sherwood, OR is seeking a Mechanic to perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on our fleet. You’ll ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently, following company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include planning repairs based on cost/benefit, conducting diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and maintenance of heavy equipment. You’ll use diagnostic tools and adapt to a fast-paced field environment with attention to safety.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age or older.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Minimum 1 year mechanic experience with fleet or commercial equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Determine repair or maintenance plans based on cost/benefit analysis.
• Conduct diagnostics to troubleshoot failures in vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect and provide strategic recommendations for proactive maintenance.
• Follow work procedures for repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
• Ensure vehicles are clean and fueled at all times.
• Operate and test vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
• Other duties as assigned.
