Job summary

DJ's Landscape Management in St. Joseph, MI is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to service a range of diesel equipment from 2-cycle engines to Class A trucks, loaders, and trailers. Work 1st or 2nd shift with competitive pay and a $1,000 bonus after 1,000 hours.

You'll diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance, track repairs in our mobile app, and collaborate with fellow mechanics to keep operations running smoothly. Prior experience preferred; training provided.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain diesel equipment including front end suspension, tires and brakes.
• Complete preventative maintenance and inspect equipment for repair needs.
• Support operations with in-field repairs and operator education.
• Winter rotation for overnight snow operations and stock/parts organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on fleet equipment.
• Track repairs and parts in the company app.
• Assist in stocking and organizing shop areas.
• Collaborate with other mechanics to ensure high-quality work.

Position: Fleet Mechanic - Bonus Opportunity Location: St. Joseph, MI Job Id:3268 # of Openings:1 Fleet Mechanic We are looking for a mechanic who can work 1st (5:00 AM - 1:30 PM) or 2nd shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM) and that likes variety, adapting, and fixing problems. We self-service a full range of equipment from 2-cycle engines to Class A trucks, loaders, and trailers. No two days are the same! In this important role, you’ll be the expert our team members go to for help with their diesel equipment, as your hard work and expertise directly allows our company to be successful. While valuing your area of expertise, we are open to training and encourage collaboration with your fellow mechanics to make sure we are doing our very best work possible.

Requirements

• Troubleshoot, recommend, repairs to front end suspension, change tires, brakes, and perform preventative maintenance and DOT's within skill set and company capabilities.
• Complete preventative maintenance, dieseland inspect equipment for repair needs.
• Support operations through repairs in the field, communication, and education of operators when possible.
• During the winter, participate in rotating shift schedule to support overnight snow operations.
• Keep track of repairs, time, and parts on our mobile app.
• Take ownership of organization of stock-parts, tools, and shop areas.
• Self-starter, able to prioritize, solve problems & operate without direct supervision.
• A Chauffer’s Driver's License and clean driving record. DJ’s will assist with obtaining chauffer designation if needed.
• Smart Phone to use Company app. to track repair information
• Physical requirements: Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach.
• Ability to push/pull.
• Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
• Ability to grasp tools.
• Able to do work involving repetitive motion.
• Able to work outdoors and in noisy environments.
