Job summary

DJ's Landscape Management is seeking a Fleet Mechanic in Wixom, MI. The role supports 2nd or 3rd shifts, servicing a range of equipment from 2-cycle engines to Class A trucks, loaders, and trailers.

You will diagnose diesel equipment issues to enable smooth operations and assist teammates through collaboration and shared knowledge. The job offers competitive hourly pay ($28-$35) with benefits, ongoing training, and opportunities for advancement within a team-focused, equal-opportunity

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel equipment and heavy trucks is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair suspension, tires, and brakes.
• Capable of performing preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and in varying environments.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair front-end suspension, tires, brakes.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections of equipment.
• Support operations with field repairs and operator education.
• Participate in rotating winter shifts for snow operations.
• Maintain repair logs in the mobile app.
• Organize stock-parts, tools, and shop areas.

Position:Fleet Mechanic Location: Wixom, MI Job Id:3282 # of Openings:1 Fleet Mechanic We are looking for a mechanic who can work 2nd (2pm start time) or 3rd shift (8pm start time) and that likes variety, adapting, and fixing problems. We self-service a full range of equipment from 2-cycle engines to Class A trucks, loaders, and trailers. No two days are the same! In this important role, you’ll be the expert our team members go to for help with their diesel equipment, as your hard work and expertise directly allows our company to be successful. Requirements

• Troubleshoot, recommend, repairs to front end suspension, change tires, brakes, and perform preventative maintenance and DOT's within skill set and company capabilities.
• Complete preventative maintenance, dieseland inspect equipment for repair needs.
• Support operations through repairs in the field, communication, and education of operators when possible.
• During the winter, participate in rotating shift schedule to support overnight snow operations.
• Keep track of repairs, time, and parts on our mobile app.
• Take ownership of organization of stock-parts, tools, and shop areas.
• Self-starter, able to prioritize, solve problems & operate without direct supervision.
• A Chauffer’s Driver's License and clean driving record. DJ’s will assist with obtaining chauffer designation if needed.
• Smart Phone to use Company app. to track repair information
• Physical requirements: Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach.
• Ability to push/pull.
• Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
• Ability to grasp tools.
• Able to do work involving repetitive motion.
• Able to work outdoors and in noisy environments.
