Job summary

NW Natural is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Assistant in Sherwood on a swing shift (2:30 pm–11:00 pm). This role handles basic garage maintenance, vehicle refueling, inventory, and minor repairs under supervision, with safety as a priority.

Requirements include CDL Class A and forklift certification within the qualification period, plus valid license and DOT compliance. Expect physical work, tool operation, and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Must obtain a CDL Class A within the qualification period and maintain DOT certifications.
• Must obtain forklift certification within the qualification period.
• Valid driver's license required with satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours.
• Exposure to noise, chemicals and machinery with safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, cleans and organizes garage and equipment.
• Refuels, checks fluids, relocates and cleans service vehicles.
• Assists in maintaining tire, tube, and battery inventories.
• Lubricates tools and vehicles; performs preventative maintenance.
• Operates pneumatic tools, sandblast, steam cleaners and pressure washers.
• Moves vehicles between centers and district locations.
• Performs maintenance or minor repairs under supervision.
• Wears protective equipment and follows safety protocols.
• Maintains punctual attendance and professional conduct.
