Job summary

NW Natural Sunset is seeking a Journeyman Fleet Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a broad range of fleet vehicles and equipment. This union role emphasizes leading center repair coordination with minimal supervision while meeting DOT and DEQ inspection requirements.

The position requires a strong mechanical background in diesel and electrical systems, experience in fleet maintenance, and the ability to train junior staff. Compensation reflects an hourly rate with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Four years' experience as a mechanic in fleet/fleet maintenance.
• Advanced knowledge of air systems, vehicle 12v-650v, hydraulics.
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools and reference manuals.
• Valid OR/WA driver's license and clean driving record.
• Coordination of DOT & DEQ inspections and vehicle reports.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automotive computer problems.
• Coordinate repair parts and communicate with vendors to ensure timely maintenance.
• Train and assist less-experienced workers at the direction of supervision.
