Job summary

PepsiCo in Toledo, Ohio, is hiring a Fleet Mechanic. This position offers a competitive pay of $31.40/hour along with excellent benefits such as medical, vision, and dental insurance starting Day 1.

The Fleet Mechanic will ensure the reliability of PepsiCo's fleet and work independently on diverse fleet equipment while utilizing top-notch tools and technology. Qualified candidates will have mechanical knowledge and background in gas and diesel repair.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Own basic hand tools.
• Physical movements include lifting, bending, and reaching.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs with a high degree of independence.
• Diagnose failures and maintain vehicle records.
• Answer service calls and assist in maintaining the fleet.

Skills

Position

Fleet Mechanic with PBNA is PepsiCo's beverage manufacturing, sales, and distribution operating unit. Fleet Mechanics play a key role in the success of our business by ensuring the reliability of our fleet and supporting the safety of our Drivers.

What it’s like to be a Fleet Mechanic with PBNA

Job preview available. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Work with a high degree of independence while performing PMs and repairs
• Utilize leading-edge technology and programs including PM using voice application, Noregon diagnostics, Mitchell 1, Uptake predictive analytics, TAAS, and more
• Grow skills working on Pepsi’s diverse fleet equipment (automobiles, trucks, vans, forklifts)
• Diagnose failures, disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as necessary
• Maintain documentation and records such as vehicle records and pre-trip checklists
• Answer service calls
• Be part of the team that maintains one of the largest fleets in North America

Minimum requirements

• Own basic hand tools; diagnostic, ergonomic, and high-tech equipment provided
• Physical movements including lifting, pinching, bending, reaching, climbing, and handling objects (with or without accommodation)
• At least 18 years of age
• Must be able to pass Forklift Driving Skills test (if applicable)
• Mechanical knowledge of gas and diesel repair
• Experience with hydraulic and air brake systems
• Knowledge of internal combustion engines
• Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance

Helpful experience

• Repairing forklifts and related systems
• Working with computers and diagnostics (iPad, desktop, handhelds, Noregon, Autometer, INFOR, Geotab, etc.)
• Working with manufacturing standards and OEM tools
• Valid U.S. Class A or B CDL (for road testing trucks, etc.)
• Repairing heavy-duty and light-duty equipment
