Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Fleet Technician I to maintain and repair Mobile Storage fleet equipment, including containers and modular buildings. Under supervision, you’ll perform cleaning, repairs, and documentation while following safety standards.

You’ll also assist CDL A drivers, manage work orders, and keep yards organized per 5S guidelines, with opportunity to grow into more advanced roles within a large equipment rental leader.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Active state driver’s license.
• Related maintenance experience is a plus.
• Basic verbal and written skills.
• Teamwork and customer service skills.
• Time management skills.
• Ability to utilize required information technology.
• Working knowledge of heavy equipment and tools.
• Accurately record time and materials for work orders.
• Lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Mobile Storage fleet equipment under supervision.
• Perform basic maintenance: flooring, roofs, doors, leaks, and cosmetic work.
• Hook mobile offices to power, check tires, and complete work orders.
• Travel to customer sites to set up trailers and assist drivers when needed.
• Prepare documentation and ensure 5S cleanliness in shop and yard.
• Inspect inbound/outbound equipment and follow Rental Flow procedures.
• Operate forklift safely and demonstrate equipment to customers.
