Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Fleet Technician I in New Jersey to maintain and repair Mobile Storage equipment—including containers, ground level offices, office trailers, and modular buildings—while performing tasks safely and in line with company standards.

Under supervision you will complete work orders, inspect and service gear, hook mobile offices to power, check tires and lugs, and travel to customer sites to set up trailers and assist CDL A

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Active state driver's license required.
• Related maintenance experience is a plus.
• Basic verbal and written skills.
• Construction knowledge.
• Teamwork and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated time management skills.
• IT skills to utilize required systems.
• Working knowledge of heavy equipment and tools.
• Accurately record time and materials for work orders.
• Lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of Mobile Storage quality standards.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on Mobile Storage equipment.
• Hook mobile office to power source.
• Check tire pressure and lugs.
• Complete work orders on time and within budget.
• Document work orders and other required paperwork.
• Travel to customer sites to set up office trailers and assist CDL A drivers.
• Equipment modifications per specifications and codes.
• Keep shop, yard, tools and supplies organized.
• Follow 5S guidelines.
• Show equipment to customers when needed.
• Safely install/uninstall VAPs per requirements.
