Job summary

United Rentals is hiring a Fleet Technician I to maintain and repair Mobile Storage rental fleet equipment, including containers and modular units. Under supervision, you\'ll perform safe, quality work, complete work orders, and assist CDL A drivers at customer sites.

You will travel to customer locations, follow 5S guidelines, and ensure orderly shop and yard operations while meeting schedule and budget targets.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active state driver\'s license is required.
• Related maintenance experience is a plus.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills.
• Construction knowledge and background.
• Ability to utilize required information technology.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Mobile Storage quality standards.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on mobile storage equipment, including flooring, roofs, walls, doors, leaks, painting, and other components.
• Hook mobile office to power source.
• Check tire pressure and lugs.
• Complete assignments on time and within budget.
• Complete assignments as documented on Work Orders.
• Complete necessary documentation (work orders, etc.).
• Travel to customer sites to set office trailers and assist CDL A Drivers when needed.
• Complete equipment modifications per manufacturer specifications and local codes.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of shop, yard, tools, and supplies.
• Follow Mobile Storage and United Rentals 5S guidelines.
• Meet cleanliness standards on each assignment.
• Store tools and supplies securely; keep yard organized.
• Inform supervisor of supply needs.
• Perform inbound and outbound equipment inspections and processing; follow Rental Flow procedures.
• Operate forklift safely.
• Show and exhibit fleet to customers when needed.
• Safely install and/or uninstall VAPs according to reservation requirements.
