Job summary

MTM Transit is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician/Mechanic (B) to maintain a fleet of 96 vehicles in Denver, CO. You will service, diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance to ensure safety and reliability of MTM Transit service vehicles.

You’ll work Monday–Friday, 2pm–10:30pm with opportunities for ASE certifications and bonuses. We offer comprehensive benefits and a strong culture focused on growth and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• 1+ years of auto/truck experience or automotive coursework preferred for A/B level. ASE training is a plus.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and MVR background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, diagnose, and repair MTM Transit service vehicles.
• Record repair activity in the fleet maintenance system.
• Perform preventive maintenance as required and coordinate with Fleet Maintenance Manager.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

This position consists of service, diagnosing, repair, and general maintenance of MTM Transit service vehicles.Our Fleet Maintenance staff are more than Mechanics. Their dedication ensures our vehicles are always ready to keep communities connected and passengers on the move.Location: 280 W 62 Ave Denver, CO 80216Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2pm - 10:30pmStarting Pay: $33.00 to $37.00 per hour – based on experience and technician level.What your job will look like:Responsible for maintenance, service, diagnosing, & repair of MTM Transit service vehiclesAreas of repair to include but not limited to Automotive / Light duty vehicles, powertrains, undercarriage/ chassis, electronic and electrical equipment, air conditioning and heating systems, wheelchair lifts, and vehicle accessories and equipment drivability and diagnosisRecord vehicle repair activity into electronic fleet maintenance management systemPerform preventive maintenance as requiredWork with local Fleet Maintenance Manager and General ManagerPerform additional duties as assigned or requiredWhat You'll Need:Experience, Education & Certifications:High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalentMust have minimum of 1+ years of auto/truck experience or automotive courses from automotive institute for entry C level position. Multi year experience and certifications a plus for A and B level positions.Must possess a valid driver’s licenseMust possess the AC609 Certification or ability to obtainMust possess proper hand tools or willing to obtain. MTM will supply diagnostic, heavy and specialty equipmentWillingness to train and take ASE A series tests as neededMust pass a DOT Physical as requiredMust be able to pass an annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background screenExperience using hand and power tools, machinery, sophisticated test and diagnostic equipment related to automotive repairSkills:Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and pass a DOT Physical (Non-Driver) and drug test (including medical marijuana)Must be able to communicate with others and comprehend instructionsRoutinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiersAble to bend, stoop, crawl, and reach above their headMust have the ability to lift 50lbsEven Better If You Have:ASE certifications preferred for level A or B mechanicWhat's in it for you:Certification Opportunities - ASE certificationsPaid Training, Guaranteed hours. For each year the employee retains their Master ASE in an approved series you will receive $2,500.Each initial passing of an ASE test you will now receive a one time bonus of $250.00.MTM will pay for each test for the technicians up to 2 times per test.
