Fleet Maintenance Technician – Jacksonville

• Perform functions on fleet vehicles and equipment according to company policies, regulations, manuals, schematics, and personal knowledge.
• The responsibilities listed are not exhaustive; additional duties may be assigned as needed.
• This position is available as Fleet Maintenance Technician Class A, B, or C.
• The offered position depends on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age of 20 years
• Valid driver’s license and authorization to operate a company vehicle by start date
• Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
• Ability to lift at least 65 pounds
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and math
• Completion of tests: Basic Office Skills, Following Written Instructions, Spatial and Mechanical Reasoning (before start date)
• Ability to interpret instructions and operate a computerized maintenance system
• Obtain ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Maintain necessary hand tools
• Teamwork skills and enthusiasm for work
• Commitment to Publix’s mission

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to interpret technical manuals
• At least two years of medium/heavy-duty truck trade school or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of ARC, MIG, and GAS welding and cutting
• Basic welding skills for aluminum and steel
• Mechanical and diagnostic skills, circuit knowledge, and understanding operational sequences
• One year of relevant trade school or experience

Year-End Bonus

Annual bonus based on years of employment: 15 hours’ pay in the first year, one week’s pay in the second, and two weeks’ pay thereafter.
