Job summary

Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts is seeking skilled Fleet Service Technicians I or II to perform routine maintenance on fleet assets at the Puente Hills site and other facilities. Qualifications

• A valid California Class C driver license.
• For Fleet Service Technician I: One (1) year of progressively responsible experience servicing and maintaining a variety of vehicles or heavy equipment; OR completion of one (1) year of a two-year trade school in diesel mechanic technology, heavy equipment technology, or a closely related program may be considered in lieu of the required experience.
• For Fleet Service Technician II: One (1) year working as a Fleet Service Technician I for the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County.

Responsibilities

• Refuel, service, and maintain fleet assets
• Change fluids, lubricants, and filters
• Adjust tracks, belts, brakes, and chains
• Remove and install ground engaging tools
• Remove and install tires
• Provide roadside service to fleet vehicles
• Perform basic repair tasks on fleet assets
• Install decals
• Assist mechanics in technical diagnostic and repair work
• Maintain an inventory of servicing supplies and equipment parts
• Create work orders and update work order records in a computerized maintenance management system
• Schedule and coordinate major services
• Drive off-site to perform various tasks including picking up parts
