Job summary

Pilot Company is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to support the Maintenance Department in a fast-paced environment. You will perform basic preventive maintenance and assist Senior Mechanics with repairs while keeping the shop clean and organized.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid California Class C driver's license (or ability to obtain one). You will also pick up/deliver parts, conduct safety inspections, and maintain accurate service records.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of vehicle systems, tools and mechanical processes.
• Maintain and repair heavy mechanical and/or automotive equipment under close supervision.
• Safely operate a variety of hand tools and shop power equipment.
• Follow oral and written instructions and read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver parts from vendors to support ongoing repair operations.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections; document findings.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles under supervision.
• Assist Senior Mechanics with diagnostics, component repairs, and more complex maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation of work performed and parts used.
• Keep shop areas, including bathrooms/offices, clean and organized.
• Participate in ongoing training to build mechanical skills.
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies.
