Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our fleet running safely and efficiently. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure timely repairs across company equipment.

Responsibilities include reading precision instruments, welding when needed, and complying with DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA rules. This role demands hands-on problem solving and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as maintenance technician or equivalent education.
• Must provide own tools to perform job duties.
• Possess a valid CDL when required.
• Ability to read precision instruments and use diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA regulations.
• Willingness to train when offered; may require shift changes.
• Maintain superior customer relations and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Build, rebuild and repair all parts of company equipment as required.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical or other failures on trucks or trailers.
• Read precision instruments like micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, voltmeters, calibrators.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on truck and trailer systems.
• Weld horizontally and vertically on converter dollies where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA regulations.
• Be versatile to perform all duties as assigned.
